Okay, so I’ve been messing around with astrology lately, trying to figure out this whole birth chart thing. It’s way more complicated than just knowing your Sun sign, let me tell you! Anyway, I was curious about how astrology deals with in-laws, you know, the whole extended family dynamic after marriage. I heard something about the eighth house being important for this, especially for us ladies, but it sounded kind of gloomy, like having planets there was a bad omen or something.

So, I started digging around, and man, it got confusing fast. Different houses seemed to mean different things when it comes to the in-law family. It seems like the whole thing is seen from the perspective of the seventh house, which is the house of marriage and partnerships. I mean, you’d think it would be the fourth house, family and all. It is a mess!
First, I tried to get my head around this “mother-in-law” angle. Turns out, people say it’s the tenth house that represents your spouse’s mom because it’s the fourth house from the seventh. Sounds logical, I guess, counting houses like that. Then I went down the rabbit hole of the “father-in-law.” Apparently, that’s the third house, which is the ninth from the seventh. My brain was starting to hurt at this point. They say your father-in-law will act like whatever planets are hanging out in your third house. What does that even mean?
Then, just when I thought I was getting somewhere, I found out about the siblings-in-law. Younger ones are supposedly linked to the ninth house (third from the seventh), and older ones to the fifth house (eleventh from the seventh). I was like, “Are you kidding me?” It felt like I was trying to solve some crazy puzzle.
Honestly, after all this, I’m still not sure I completely get it. I looked at my own chart, and it’s a jumble of planets in different houses. Trying to figure out how that translates to my actual in-laws is like, yeah, a bit of a headache, to be honest. But it is a bit fun, like a game.
So I did a little test. I put my birth time into one of those online chart calculators, and it showed my houses, the planets, and signs in each house. I tried to match up the planets in the tenth, third, ninth, and fifth houses with the personalities of my mother-in-law, father-in-law, and my husband’s siblings. It was kind of a stretch, but I could see some similarities, I guess? Or maybe I was just trying too hard to find them.
I even tried to compare my chart with my husband’s. His in-laws (my parents) would be seen from his seventh house, right? So, I did the same house counting thing from his seventh house. It was messy, and I’m not sure how accurate it was, but it was interesting to see the differences and similarities in our charts when it comes to family.
In the end, I feel like I’ve just scratched the surface of this whole in-law astrology thing. There’s so much more to learn, I bet. Maybe it’s all a load of baloney, or maybe there’s something to it. Who knows? But it was a fun little experiment, and it definitely made me think more about how complicated family relationships can be. It’s like a giant puzzle where everyone’s connected in different ways.
- Tried to understand how astrology represents in-laws.
- Got confused by the different houses involved (10th, 3rd, 9th, 5th).
- Looked at my own birth chart and tried to apply the concepts.
- Compared my chart with my husband’s to see the in-law perspective.
- Concluded that it’s a complex topic, but a fun exploration.
I definitely need to do more digging. Maybe I’ll find some clearer explanations out there. Or maybe I’ll just accept that some things are better left as mysteries. Anyway, that’s my little adventure into the world of astrological in-laws. It’s been a wild ride!
