Okay, so I’ve been seeing the number 500 everywhere lately. Like, on license plates, receipts, even the number of unread emails in my inbox (yikes!). It got to the point where I was like, “Alright, universe, I see you. What’s up with 500?” So, I decided to do a little experiment, treat it like a message, and see what happened.

My 500 Experiment
First, I did what anyone else would do – I did some quick searching. I wanted some kind of basic, common information. The stuff I found online said 500 is an “angel number.” Some of the interpretations I read said it’s all about major life changes, making important decisions, and learning big life lessons. Honestly, it felt a little vague, but also kind of… fitting? I’ve been feeling like I’m at a crossroads lately, so the “major life changes” part resonated.
So, here’s what I did: I decided to keep a journal for a week, specifically focusing on any decisions I had to make, big or small, and any “lessons” that seemed to pop up. I also made a conscious effort to be more open to new opportunities, just in case the universe was trying to shove one my way.
- Day 1: Nothing huge. I did decide to finally sign up for that online photography course I’ve been putting off. Seemed like a small step, but in line with “embracing change.”
- Day 2: Had a slightly uncomfortable conversation with a friend about a recurring issue. Felt like a “life lesson” in communication. Not fun, but probably necessary.
- Day 3: Got offered a freelance project completely out of the blue. It’s a bit outside my comfort zone, but I said yes! Angel number 500 in action? Maybe!
- Day 4-6: Mostly focused on working on the freelance project and the photography course. Feeling a little overwhelmed, but also kind of energized by the new challenges.
- Day 7: Okay, this is where it got a bit weird. I was walking to get coffee, and literally almost bumped into someone I hadn’t seen in years, someone I’d had a major falling out with. We ended up talking, and… it was actually really good. A chance to clear the air and maybe even rebuild a friendship. Life lesson, much?
The Results (So Far)
So, after a week of actively looking the number 500, has my life drastically changed? Not exactly. But I do feel like I’ve been more mindful of the choices I’m making and more open to taking chances. It’s like the number 500 became a little reminder to pay attention, to be present, and to not be afraid of shaking things up.
I’m not sure I’m a full-blown believer in angel numbers, but I do think there’s something to be said for being open to the messages the universe (or your subconscious, or whatever you want to call it) might be sending you. Maybe it’s all about perspective, and actively looking for 500 just made me more aware of the opportunities and lessons that were already there. Either way, it’s been an interesting experiment, and I’m curious to see if the 500s keep popping up, and what they might lead to next!
