Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into this whole astrology thing lately, and I wanted to try and map out my own chart. I’m a Capricorn sun, Cancer moon – sounds kinda intense, right? So, I figured I’d document the whole process.

Getting Started
First, I needed to, like, actually figure out how to do this. I’m no expert, just someone who’s curious. I grabbed a piece of paper and a pen – old school, I know – and started jotting down some basic info.
- Date of Birth: Obviously needed this.
- Time of Birth: This was trickier. I had to text my mom. She remembered… eventually. Super important for accuracy, apparently.
- Place of Birth: My hometown. Easy peasy.
The Deep Dive
I spent some time getting familiar with the different, I guess symbols for each sign, it helped me remember and learn faster than I thought. I started to try to put the pieces together by drawing up a circle (my “chart”) and started to divided it into twelve sections. Each section is for, you know, the houses. I’m still kinda fuzzy on what all the houses mean, but I figured I’d get there.
Then, I start plugging in my info. Capricorn sun? Okay, that goes here. Cancer moon? Okay, slot that in over there. It felt a bit like a puzzle, putting all these pieces together. The writing helps me remember where I put my stuff in case I have to do another one or something else. I put everything I wanted to in the circle and I drew a line connecting it all.
Making Sense of It All
Honestly, looking at the finished chart… it’s a little overwhelming. It’s like, all these lines and symbols, and I’m supposed to understand what it all means? My Capricorn sun makes me super ambitious and driven, while my Cancer moon makes me all emotional and sensitive. It’s a weird combo. I have to keep reminding myself where I put things, so I don’t forget.
I did some more digging around, trying to figure out how my sun and moon signs interact. It talked about this push-pull between wanting to achieve big things (Capricorn) and needing emotional security (Cancer). It was a bit of a “whoa” moment. I’m still processing it all, to be honest. I gotta learn more about the other signs to see how they connect to my chart better.
This is definitely a work in progress. I’m not going to become an astrology expert overnight. But it’s been a fun, kinda messy, but fun, way to learn a little bit more about myself and explore this whole world of star signs and charts. I plan on practicing more and learning more about it, I may even get some of my friends to see if I can help them too.
